Day 30 – Burlington, WA

We’re home!!!!!!!! Crossed the border at 11:30 am, the import of the trailer went very well.  The sun was shining and it was so good to be back in our home town……then to our house.  We unloaded the trailer, well, started to.  Dereck went to his school to talk to some teachers and Gavaen and Louise arrived for the first round of hugs and kisses.  The family has dinner all planned and I’m sure it will be a good time of catching up and getting lots of snuggles.

Stay tuned for the next trip, or ramble or who knows?

Day 29 – Portland, OR

Getting closer!  I can smell it!  I can feel it – rain!  It didn’t really start raining until we were ready to go outside and hook up.  It actually wasn’t too bad, just a light pitter patter.  Our site take down went very well, we had a relatively lazy morning, leaving out site at 10:15.  Our first stop was Camping World, for just a few minutes, then Central 4×4 for a cover for the high lift jack and then we were finally on the road.  The rain persisted off and on.  Stopped for lunch at the Touttle river Rest Stop, turned on the heat and ate sandwiches.  We didn’t dawdle too much, Seattle looms ahead and we want to be ahead of rush hour.

Arrived in Seattle about 3, so decided on the 405, good decision.  It is wider and it flowed very smoothly.  Our fist real stop of the day was Seattle Premium Outlet in Marysville.  The boys went out to shop and Maggie and I had a nap.  What  aperfect division of labour!

After adding another pair of shoes for Dereck we headed up to Burlington.  We’ll be staying at Camping World.  The wal marts around here do not allow overnight parking.  Camping World even has electric outlets available!

I’m sure we will be up early and eager to get home.  The border could take a while but we should still be home around lunch, or before.  Unpack, repack, and sort things out in the trailer, then we can go get our hugs!!

Day 28 – Portland, OR

Well, we woke up to pouring rain this morning,  It really felt like home!  The rain didn’t interrupt our plans at all – shopping was the only thing on the agenda.  We started at a big mall where I found lots of nice clothes at bargain prices. A big outlet mall in Wilsonville was our next target where David found a jacket and Dereck got his Osiris shoes that he’s been looking for.  Target, Fred Meyer and Wal Mart shopping bags also found their way in to our car.  We did make sure to stay nourished – mmmm,Panda Express- and hydrated.  Thanks to Lois’ information on the exchange rate, and not paying no sales tax we felt quite relaxed about spending a wee bit.

As soon as we got back to our site we headed for the hot tub.  Ahhhh, shopper’s aches relieved!  Now it’s a quiet night of customs declarations and hot chocolate, how peaceful,

Tomorrow we will head for the Burlington/Bellingham area for a final shop and preparation to cross the border on Thursday morning.  I can hardly wait to see everyone!  It will be very strange not to write my blog every day!
